Meet Hope

Darling Hope was saved from tragedy thanks to good people who discovered her suffering in a vacant apartment with no food and only toilet water. No one knows how long she was there, but she was starving and having neurological episodes when she was found. We weren’t sure that she would make it, but as she was rushed to the emergency clinic she was given the name “Hope” as our wish for her. Within two days of being in critical care, Hope was giving head bumps to the doctors and staff that were helping her. Thankfully, she quickly gained weight, became more trusting of people and flourished in her foster home. Although she still has what doctor’s think may be minor seizures infrequently, they don’t seem to bother her and she doesn’t require special care during the episodes - her head and eyes merely shake for a few seconds. She takes a half a pill mixed in a little wet food morning and night. Because Tenth Life tries to do everything we can for our rescues, Hope has been through a battery of tests (including an MRI and spinal tap) and the neurologists cannot find anything wrong with her. So, for now she will remain on her medication, which is inexpensive. We feel her “episodes” don’t affect her quality of life.

Once you give her treats and head scratches, Hope quickly warms up to new people. She loves to play with feathered toys and the crazy red dot. She spends almost every night laying on her foster mom’s chest. She rubs her face against hers to show her how thankful she is to have been saved. And, if you want that traditional "lap cat", Hope is your girl. She also has very good manners and perfect litter box habits. However, it has been determined that Hope does not like other cats (at all). So, she will need to go to a home where she can be the only kitty. A quieter home would likely be best for her. We know that Hope likely belonged to someone at one time. She was spayed, but she had no microchip. For all that she has been through, she is still loyal and loving and deserves the forever home she somehow initially missed out on.
