Meet Diamond

Diamond was found wandering begging for food. She was terribly emaciated and had clearly just had puppies.

It was a slow process getting her healthy enough for her spay surgery but she has made a tremendous recover and in just a few months is a new healthy, albeit rather round girl now.

Diamond is now ready to move on to her new home.

She can be a little timid when meeting new people and prefers to take it slow, but when she warms up to you she becomes a wiggly bundle of love.

Diamond enjoys playing with other dogs, as long as they are calm and happy. She gets intimidated if they are too excited and becomes fearful. She's very sweet and loves to play with toys, especially when she knows she's entertaining you. She does very well on a leash and loves to hike.

Stop by the shelter soon and meet our Diamond in the ruff!

We cannot confirm that dogs who come from the shelter will be house trained.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills.

Please be prepared to provide the training and dedication that will be needed.

We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.

*** This is why it is important that we introduce everyone in the home to the new pet. Please plan to have the whole family come visit.

*** We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.

*** All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.

*** Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
