Meet Darby
Meet Darby?
Darby has been a stray for a few weeks in a neighborhood where the residents were feeding her, letting her sleep on the porch, etc. After they were unsuccessful finding her owner they reached out to us for help. During her time in this neighborhood an 11 year old boy fell in love with her. So much so that when he heard someone was coming to pick her up he hid her in shed so we couldn't find her. He thought we might be taking her to a shelter. After explaining and reassuring him that she was always going to be safe from here on out he went and got her.
Darby is now in a temporary foster home. She was covered head to toe in ticks and was a perfect angel while her foster mom tediously pick them all off. She seems house trained and crate trained as well.
My daughter and I met her yesterday and took her for a walk. My 9 year old daughter walked her for over 2 miles and she perfect on the leash for her. Darby seems to be about 5 years old, super laid back, great on leash, dog and kid friendly as well.
She is currently in a temporary foster looking for another foster or forever home. Her adoption fee is $150 and applications can be found at sophiescircle.org
