Meet WELLINGTON

Meet Mr. Wellington! This handsome little puppy doesn’t need formalities, a top hat or cane or a cup of tea. But, we do think he’s quite a distinguished puppy. First, you can’t help but notice that face. The fuzzy wuzzy face with his brownie eye patch. Second, Wellington likes to be petted. And please don’t stop or he’ll paw at you until you resume. We think he wants you to know, petting is on his time-table and not yours. But trust us when you we say that you won’t mind his little pawing. He has cute little bear cub paws. And last, Wellington is a thinker. We’re not sure what is going on in that cute mind of his but he when he stares at you, we’re wondering what is going through his little puppy mind. Perhaps he’s mentally telling you want toy to pick up for him to play with.

We do highly recommend puppy classes and/or obedience classes for him. Aussie’s can grow into higher energy and are quick learners so teaching them manners would be ideal. And, it helps with bonding too! We think you’ll enjoy it with any of the puppies in this litter. They also are great at agility. If you’ve never thought of that, take a fun class and learn just how smart these little puppies are.

This breed is known for herding so they may try herding small children or other animals. If you are concerned about that or herd nipping as they grow up, please consider another breed of dog. Check our profiles for dogs are good with children or are not herding breeds.

Wellington is a male Australian Shepherd/mix born approximately 11-9-18. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick/heartworm preventative & dewormed. Adoption fee is $500 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will receive a reply from DollysLegacy@aol.com within a few days of application submission, please make sure to check your spam folder if you do not see a reply within a week. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted. PLEASE be sure to answer all questions completely or it will delay processing, be sure to include vet phone#. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. If you have any questions please email DollysLegacy@aol.com.
