Timo Havanese Mix Corvallis, OR

Hi, I'm Timo, a happy energetic Havanese mix dog who loves people. I'm about 10 years old and weigh around 25 pounds. One of my owners passed away in 2017 and the other is entering a care facility and can't bring me along. My goal is to find a new furever home, possibly with other dogs or children, where I can make people happy.

I'm full of life and zest! I love to take walks and am an excellent walker on my harness. I don't bother with other dogs walking by, unless they bark at me, then naturally I will bark back. I just want to be with my people and where the action is, but I'm very good with other dogs - unless I'm tied up. That's why I'm back on the SDRO website. My last adoption didn't work out because my adopters were campground hosts so my job was to greet campers when they checked in. I loved meeting new people, but it made me really uncomfortable when they brought their dogs and little kids around. I'm little and I was tied up, so I felt like I had to defend my territory by showing those new dogs how tough I can be! I finally realized that I'm just not cut out to be a campground host.

I bark when people come into the house, but I settle down quickly. I'll go willingly into my crate if you offer me a treat; I don't mind at all. I'm calm during baths, and i love exploring the back yard. I don't dig holes or anything; just sniff and enjoy the scents. I never have any accidents in the house as long as I get let out often enough.

Food is a big motivator for me! I'm a good eater and I LOVE snacks. If chairs are left away from the dining table and my food is on the table, you can bet I won't hesitate to jump on the chairs then to the table to eat. I don't love being picked up, but will tolerate it. I've never shown any fear reactions or aggression, even with food.

I enjoy playing with toys, taking walks, sitting and watching TV on a warm lap and accompanying anyone who would like to take a midday nap. I will sleep in a crate, but I'd rather snuggle up with a nice person like you!

What can I say? I'm just an adorable, enthusiastic little dog with the happiest smile you've ever seen!

Pupdate: Timo is back! You may remember this little guy, we had him on hold for a bit to get some bladder stones taken care of. But now Timo is fully recovered and ready for his forever home. We have also learned from his foster that Timo has recently been around young children and has been great. She also describes Timo as "the easiest dog" she has ever had.
