Meet SHADE

Oh, hello there! I see you want to learn a little more about me, Shade! Well then, where should I start? To begin, I know I’m only a year old, but I guess you could say I have the temperament of a much older soul. Jumping up and down on my foster family and getting zoomies through the house isn’t really my style. I’m a sucker for a good nap time. Don’t get me wrong, I love my toys and playing, but most people call me a calm and sophisticated pup. Aside from my age, you’ll be interested to know I didn’t come to Dolly’s alone – I came with my sister, Mary Kate! If you’re in the market for two calm dogs, we are totally your pals! But we are currently fostered in separate homes, so I would be fine on my own.

I suppose, given the 10 degree weather, you’re probably wondering about potty training – then you’ll love this – I’m fully potty trained! No need to stand outside for 30 minutes as we awkwardly stare at each other freezing our paws off. I get what outside is for – I know how it works. Aside from that, I’m currently fostered with children and other pets (big and small). It’s one big happy family! I do suppose I have one “quirk” and that’s cats. I don’t understand them, I’m convinced they are trying to take over the world, and I would probably do best without any feline siblings. So what are you waiting for – apply to adopt me!

Shade is a female Hound/Beagle mix, weighs 27 lbs and was born approximately 10-11-17. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. She was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease and has been given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm preventative. She will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life as is recommended for all dogs. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will receive a reply from DollysLegacy@aol.com within a few days of application submission, please make sure to check your spam folder if you do not see a reply within a week. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted. PLEASE be sure to answer all questions completely or it will delay processing, be sure to include vet phone#. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. If you have any questions please email DollysLegacy@aol.com.
