Maximus Poodle Houston, TX

Maximus is a young male miniature poodle who's about 1 year old and 15 pounds. We rescued him from an uncertain future at a public animal shelter where he was turned in by his owners. He arrived in poor shape and underweight. Upon intake, he was diagnosed with various skin issues including mange. As a result of the excellent treatment he received from our vet, Dr. Kessler, he is now healthy and ready for adoption. He had to be shaved down but his coat has already begun to fill in nicely and he's going to be even more handsome than he is now.

Despite his rough start to life Maximus has a happy, trusting, affectionate personality. A volunteer has described his temperament as "undeniably remarkable." He makes friends quickly and appears to be one of those rare dogs who never met a stranger. He loves to be taken out of his kennel and comes willingly and eagerly. Maximus loves interacting with humans and other dogs. He walks well on a leash and loves exploring and sniffing the surrounding area. He’s curious about everything and that is a sure sign of intelligence. It’s fun to see him strut around with his tail wagging happily in the vertical position. He will probably make a great exercise walking buddy or companion for a short or intermediate distance jogger. He will definitely make a fine companion animal and family pet and is sure to worm his way into your heart. I really love this dog! I’d bet you would too if you come out to meet him. All the dogs are healthy, spayed/neutered, current on shots, parasite / heart worm disease tested (and treated if positive). All dogs are microchipped, groomed and trained to use a doggie door.
