Darling Derrick Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & Dalmatian Mix West Simsbury, CT

Hi! My name is Darling Derrick and I am looking for a loving, forever home. I was rescued from a beach in Puerto Rico by the President of the rescue and her daughter where dogs are abandoned and left to fend for themselves on a daily basis. When they found me I was skin and bones with most of my hair missing. I knew things were about to get alot better for me :)). My rescuer loved and cared for me until I was fully recovered and healthy and ready to take my liberation flight.

My foster family in Pembroke, Massachusetts says I am a SUPER sweet dog:). Here is what they have to say about me: Derrick has a huge heart and an over-sized personality to match! He would love nothing better than to sit on your lap for the whole day! We take him on lots of walks for about 6 miles a day.
Derrick loves other dogs and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard where he could run around and play with another dog. Derrick is puppy mouthy - not aggressive - so young children would not be a good fit.

Derrick has loved all dogs and people we have met thus far in our neighborhood as well as at the conservation area where we walk him and our dog for his longer walks. Derrick would love a family who would include him in lots of adventures like hiking, running and other outdoor activities. He will provide lots of love, fun and a great exercise partner :)).

Derrick is 2 years old, 50 lbs., neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated.
