Meet Fitz
Fitz came to ADOPT on 8/3/18. He was born about 8/3/2017. Fitz is a two paw de-claw.
When Fitz first came to adopt, he was quite a handful. He was not to happy about spending a week in our intake cage and he let staff know it. After he calmed down a bit, Fitz decided we weren't so bad after all.
But Fitz had never learned how to play nicely. He played like a young kitten, biting hard enough to break skin. We're thinking he didn't have any siblings to teach him manners (one of the reasons we recommend kittens having feline playmates).
Staff have been working with him and Fitz is showing us what a sweetheart he can be. He absolutely loves attention and can't wait for someone to give him head scratches. He is starting to understand the importance of playing with toys rather than hands.
Fitz will need an experienced family to adopt him and continue to work with him. Staff will be more than happy to show potential adopters how to continue his training. We believe he will be well worth the effort.
