Meet Django
Django was an owner surrender due to the parents getting divorced. He is re-trained with recall and e-collar commands.
He LOVES to run, and NEEDS to be with someone who hunts and is active. He was supposedly trained as both a mountain lion dog and a bird dog. I have not tested out the mountain lion training yet, but he is a great bird dog. He will not be good around cats or chickens.
He does bark, especially when he gets really excited about a squirrel on the power line, we are working on this. Also if he is in the kennel in the back of the truck he will bark/cry some at first but then settles down, until he can tell we are close to home then gets excited and let's you know about it. He rides awesome in the cab of the truck. He loves to hang with his other doggie friends and would do best in a home with another dog. He loves to cuddle at night if you let him, he will also sleep on his own bed as well. He currently needs to gain some weight and we are working on that.
Medical Concerns: He does have a mild heart murmur-just had an ECHO at the beginning of Aug and is cleared for all activities with no restrictions and no medications needed. Follow-up recommendations are yearly vet visits. He also has a severe vitamin B12 and folate deficieny that has manifested in some gastrointestinal symptoms such as pooping a lot! We tried oral which isn't working, so moved him to twice weekly B12 injections in addition to being on Tylan now which is a twice daily oral powder put on his food.
His training: he is crate trained, both in house and in the truck. He is e-collar trained--- can be very stubborn when he has something in his sights, such as a deer, house trained and basic obedience commands. Does well on leash when it is just him.
**Please note- he is on hold until he returns to a healthy weight.
