Meet Gin

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Adoption Fee: $25

Age: 13

Breed: Turkish Angora mix

Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped

Gin had a loving, doting owner before he came to Fuzzy Pawz Sadly his owner was placed in a senior care facility and unfortunately the family member that was supposed to take care of him decided they couldn’t be bothered and closed the door to the apartment where Gin and his cat sister Fidget were living and walked away; leaving them to fend for themselves. Luckily the landlord went to check on the supposedly empty apartment 10 days later and found the pair; he called a different relative who got in touch with us. Other than being in dire need of some attention both cats came through their ordeal fine.

This extremely handsome boy is so soft, sweet and gentle; one of the easiest going cats we have ever met. He is happiest lying next to you or curled up in bed napping with you; he snuggles with you at night and will even on occasion try to share your pillow. He will follow you around the house just to be near you and see what you are up to. Social is an understatement; someone comes to the door he will go see who it is so he can say hi. He will even stretch out full length on his back so you can scratch his belly! Some days his foster mom swears he is part dog. When he wants something like dinner he has the funniest gravel noise and we swear he often sounds like a donkey . While we have not had him around kids we think as long as they are old enough to know to treat him gentle he would do great with them; as long as they will pet and cuddle with him.

Gin does great with other cats and easily integrated into his foster home that has 2 other cats. We have found that Gin will do best in a home with at least one other cat friendly feline; without one he gets lonely. He does not play with them but is more content to be around them. To our knowledge Gin has never lived with a dog so we don’t know how he will do but with slow careful intros and a dog that will leave him alone he will likely do fine; as we said he’s pretty easy going.

This boy has a lush and glorious coat that will need regular brushing; weekly brushing will keep his coat bunny soft. You’ll notice in his photos the odd coloring – he has an all-black coat but has a white undercoat – this coloring is called smoke. Gin was free fed at some point in his life and was overweight; he will need a home that will feed him 3 small meals a day rather than free feed him.

Gin has had a complete medical workup and is very healthy, He recently had a dental to have a broken tooth removed.

If you are looking for the ultimate cuddling companion and have a spot on the bed so he can sleep with you (this is a requirement) all you need to do is complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/
