Meet Spinner

My name is Spinner, yes, like the fishing lure, and I’m a sweet, active 12-year-old neutered male Beagle, with a handsome tri-color coat and always wearing a smile. I need to find my furever home as soon as possible, because, unfortunately, my current owners have health issues.

I weigh a fit 27 lbs., I’m great around other dogs, really good around children probably from age 3 years and up, I’m crate & leash trained, and house trained & pee pad trained. I haven’t had any experience around cats, so please take care when introducing me to one. I’m mostly an indoor dog, but I do enjoy the outdoors and am able to spend some time in an outdoor kennel. Then, I’m happy to be back inside with my owner.

If you have a yard, then Spinner would do best with a secure fence, so his Beagle tracking instincts don’t take him off the property. And, he does have a loud Beagle “bay,” but, he mostly bays at the occasional squirrel or doorbell. Spinner is in great shape and enjoys walks. Please note that due to a long ago mild injury that caused temporary paralysis only at that time, Spinner does walk with a minor sway in his hips or in his hind legs when he’s extra tired. Also, Spinner has a benign cyst on his chest. So, please consult your veterinarian for any treatment options.

Like many dogs, Spinner is frightened by the loud sounds of thunder, gunshots, and fireworks. He has been prescribed calming medications by his current veterinarian that work best if given an hour or two prior to loud noise events. Otherwise, he won’t leave your side and may whine until the noise subsides. Please consult your veterinarian for any treatment options.

Spinner was raised by his current owners since he was a puppy. Sadly, due to health issues, they’ve been forced to find a new home for Spinner. So, when you decide to adopt this loving dog, then probably allow for a transition time for Spinner between life in his former home and his new life in your furever home. Thank you for reading about Spinner and please consider adopting this sweetheart dog.
