Meet Khona
Khona was tethered to a trailer and abandoned when her owners moved away. She was often tangled up in junk and debris so that she could not reach water, food, or shade in the Texas heat.
•Spayed standard female, 32 lbs, 3 years old, 13 inches to shoulder height
•Crate/leash-trained, good house manners, knows: sit, down, off, no, stay
•Gets along well with other dogs, good with kids>5 yrs,, cats, strangers
•Heart-worm positive (rescue will provide medication and subsequent testing for slow kill treatment)
•Grooming: good for baths, brushing, Some fussiness about feet/toenail clipping, and tail combing
•Playful, moderately active, good-natured pup, Loves interaction with humans, squeaky toys, bellyrubs,
•Shows some low-key Eskimo traits such as nippiness, cautiousness, guardedness, protectiveness,
With an owner who has some understanding of this breed, Khona will make a fabulous family dog! She has everything it takes to adapt to parents, kids, other canine/feline family members - she's waiting for her family!
