Meet Cleo

Meet Cleo, named after one of the strongest women in history, Cleopatra! Cleo is around 10-11 months old and like most of our dogs, she has a story to tell.
Initially, she was found by a Good Samaritan in an oil field, unfortunately they lived in an area where pitbulls are restricted. One of their family members took her to their home where she could stay until she found a home. The family reached out to a rescue in Wichita called Beauties and Beasts, Inc for help rehoming her. The rescue tried for over a month to find sweet Cleo a foster or adopter, but had no luck until they reached out to Purple Paws. We contacted the family and while coordinating a time to pick her up, the family threatened to take Cleo to the pound, twice, because it was too much to handle. Thankfully, we were able to coordinate with the other rescue who graciously brought her to us. Cleo was adopted in March and unfortunately history repeated itself and Cleo found herself in a restricted town again. This time was different because the family was absolutely heartbroken to return her to us but wanted her safe and to find the best home for her. ??

Her foster figured this sweet girl would be scared from being bounced around, the exact opposite. She is the happiest puppy, so happy that she will occasionally have accidents from pure excitement. Her favorite place to be is in your lap. She loves to follow her foster family around and cannot get enough attention. She is doing great with her foster's personal dogs: a lab and mastiff mix. Her foster was told she loves kiddos, but she does like to jump for hugs and likes to play with her mouth, so we think she may be best suited for older children. She is house trained other than when she gets super excited. She has slept outside of her crate at night and stayed next to her foster mom all night. She cries a little in the crate but stops fairly quickly. Overall, she's a typical puppy that likes to play and be loved on. Her foster family is requiring her forever home to have a yard to play in and another dog to play with.
