Koala 5675 Saint Bernard & Great Pyrenees Mix Rogers, AR

Koala is an amazing trooper. She arrived at the Humane Society on a blazingly hot day that topped a 111-heat index, with thick, unkempt fur that was cruelly tangled with impenetrable mats that covered most of her body. A caring volunteer worked on her for 20 minutes, trying to unsnarl some of the mats but with little avail. Koala stood perfectly still even as the brush pulled hard on the tangles, never complaining, just enduring with astounding patience. The photographer and Koala found a spot in the shade to pose for a quick photo and then moved into the only air-conditioned room in the HS where the decision to trim off all of her fur was the only option available. The next day, after the haircut, she enjoyed a relaxing bath and then settled back on a comfortable blanket with a fan providing a refreshingly cool breeze. Koala doesn't climb trees as well as well as her name-sake, isn't really fond of Eucalyptus leaves and is a "little" larger than the Australian Koala but she shares the same gentle, peaceful and easy-going nature as her loveable relation.
