Hazel’s eyes don’t produce their own tears .She is currently on a regimen of drops and ointments , but will be having surgery to reroute her salivary glands to her tear ducts . Her vision is fine and it doesn’t keep her from being happy and playful.

Good in a home with: Other dogs, cats, children.

Meet Hazel

Hazel was brought to a local animal control in a cardboard box with two other dogs. Her eyes were crusted over and the vet that saw her thought she may need to have her eyes removed . We brought her to an eye care specialist who has been working with us to save her eyes and the good news is - Hazel does have vision and doesn’t need to have her eyes removed ! She does need eye drops as her eyes don’t produce tears ,and hopefully surgery will correct this.She’s a happy and playful girl . She would do well with another small dog to play with or a family to spoil her .
