Meet Belleza Barkley

Hi everyone! My name is Belleza Barkley and I am looking for love…the kind that lasts forever. If you are looking too, maybe we can become a family? Read all about me and let my foster family know if you are interested.

Here’s my stats:
Possible Breed: Havernese mix
Gender: I’m a girly-girl
Colors: Classic black and white
Age: The vet says about 3 years young
Weight: Around 13 pounds

Ideal Home: I would do best in a home with another pup as my companion.

Now for more good stuff!-
Belleza is a playful dog but she is not the hyper, rowdy kind of playful. She is very timid and seems afraid of people, when she first meets them. She does like to be petted, but she is not a lap dog. You will have to gain her trust before she will come to you for affection.

She gets along great with other dogs and she loves squeaky toys! She hasn’t been around cats in her foster home. When she has met children, she did fine with them but has not been around them for long periods of time.
She would prefer to hang out at home rather than go on long walks. She rides well in a car on short trips but does get anxious on longer ones. She feels the same way about a crate. She is okay for a bit but prefers not to stay crated a long time.

Sweet Belleza was recently diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease; however, she is asymptomatic at the present time, so is not on any medications. She seems healthy. With a good diet and proper health care she could live an almost normal life.

Her foster family says, “Haha! She is my tattle tale. She loves food, and whenever another dog has food and she doesn’t she will bark at them non-stop. I always know when one of them has gotten into something they shouldn’t have!”

PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done:
Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it.
Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE.
Spay/Neuter-of course.
A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do.
A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms
BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys.
A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out.
See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.
