It’s summer and we know you want a milkshake. Cold, creamy, and bursting with flavor! Now, imagine going to get a milkshake....with a dog named Milkshake! This is Milkshake, and she brings all the adopters to the yard. Milkshake had a rough start in life but she is absolutely thriving with the love and consistency of her foster home. She is a smart, quick learner and she is very eager to please so we can’t wait to see the strides she’ll make with her new family. Thanks to the dedication of her foster family, she is quickly learning rules and manners. Within days she has learned to paw at the door to go potty outside, walk marvelously on a leash, and she voluntarily spends time in her kennel. She is also working on basic commands. Any undesirable behaviors (for example, pulling on leash or putting paws on counter) have been met with a firm “no” and she has not done it again. She is learning what it means to be a pet and wants to make you happy. Milkshake is a tank full of love and she’ll gladly show you! She is very strong and can sometimes knock you off balance with her affection. Because of this, she would do best in a home with children over 12. She currently lives with children who are 11 and 15 and she adores them. She also does well with dogs and she leaves cats alone. Because of her playfulness and size, we recommend Milkshake goes to a home with larger dogs. Milkshake needs a fenced backyard and she would love an active family who will play with her and give her chew toys to keep her busy when she is inside. Milkshake is a female Aussie/Terrier mix, weighs 57 and is approximately 2 yrs old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Milkshake received life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. She will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs, and retested in 6 months to ensure she is heartworm free.. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records.
