My name is Delilah and I am a 6 year old BLACK SMOKE PERSIAN. I came to Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue with some other Persian cats from the same home. The rescue fully vetted me and had to shave me as I was quite matted. My breed needs to be brushed daily to ensure that my coat stays tangle free. I would love to be adopted by someone that has experience with the Persian breed or is willing to do some research so they can ensure my comfort.
When I first came to the rescue, I was a tiny bit shy. But that is understandable, I had flown on a plane to a new state and then had to have a bunch of vetting done. Then I had a car drive to my foster home and was in a new environment. My foster mom said that I adjusted pretty quickly considering all that I went through. And let me tell you, once I learned that I was safe, my foster mom says I am the sweetest cat now! As soon as she comes in the room, I hop off my cat tower and run to rub against her legs. I love when she scratches my neck and I will fall onto my side to lean into her pets. I just love attention from people now.
I get along absolutely wonderfully with other cats. I am not sure how I am with dogs as I have not met a dog yet, however, my foster mom said that she thinks I would be okay with a very calm dog that would not chase me around and would not be in my face a lot. I would do best in a home without kids as the running around and loud voices would likely make me a little nervous and my foster mom wants me to have a home where I can feel safe.

I like to stand on my hind legs to get attention, as you can see in my photos.
I use my litter box without any issues and have been using the cat tower in my room to scratch on. I really love having a big cat tower. I get to sleep in the little cubby areas and I also get to sit on it and look out the window to watch all the birds and rabbits that go by. I hope that my forever home has a cat tower for me.
