Miracle Millie Rottweiler & Bernese Mountain Dog Mix Randolph, MA

Hi! I am Miracle Millie! I was rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico with my mom Greta last December where we were living as stray dogs. We were both in bad shape. I was emaciated, hairless, eyes swollen shut, afraid & lonely. The Paws4Survival team spotted us on the side of a busy road and came to our rescue! We were happy to see friendly faces and slowly ambled over to their car and off to the vet. I wish I could say, “and the rest was history,” but a lot happened between then and now!

The Paws4Survival team was very afraid for me...I struggled to breathe on the way to the vet and got a little carsick. It was so, so hot and I hadn’t been in a car before. The ladies were so nice to me and made sure I was comfortable. When I met the vet team, they helped ease my pain right away. It was a miracle, they said, that my blood work came back all good. That was the first time someone called me a “miracle” and I’ve been living up to the name ever since!

I slowly started gaining weight and growing in fur - they were amazed by how fluffy I was! The doc realized I needed double eye surgery, to fix my eyelashes which were growing inward. I’m proud to report my eyes are all fixed and perfect now :)

For months in Puerto Rico I rested up, ate up and finished all my vaccines and vetting. Sadly my mom was diagnosed with incurable cancer, she was 13 years old. The Paws4Survival team and vets did everything they could to make my mom comfortable but I was very sad when my mom passed away. As soon as this happened there was a wonderful foster family waiting to welcome me.

I got a perfect bill of health and flew to Boston! I am now in my loving foster home in Hanover, Massachusetts. My foster family says I’m a gentle giant who enjoys lounging on the couch and especially loves being petted. I am friendly to new people. I walk well on leash and enjoy strolls around the neighborhood. I enjoy a few rounds of fetch and I LOVE my toys :)). I need to be the only pet in your home - no other dogs or cats, please. No children under 10 for a best fit. I am fully housetrained and a happy, low-maintenance gal.

I am 8 years old and weigh around 84 pounds (though I may need to lose a little bit :) ).
