Meet Henri

This is Henri. He is a gorgeous, BIG, pure Himalayan Ragdoll that Friends of Rescue pulled from a local shelter in 2017. He was scared, matted, and ended up having special food requirements because of allergies... but it was all done with love [and a lot of fundraising] in order to keep him handsome and healthy! As expected, as soon as Henri was listed for adoption, a boatload of applications came in! We found what we believed would be the best fit for him. A quiet house, not a lot of stress, with big windows and a loving family. However, this family quickly found out that they misunderstood the importance of, expense of, and the time required to keep Henri in pristine condition. After a few months, we were asked to take him back..and we gladly did. As soon as we saw Henri's condition had declined, we quickly transferred him to a foster home in the Nashville, TN area so that he could be seen by a veterinary dermatologist. This vet has diagnosed Henri with Suspect Idiopathic Facial Dermatitis of Persians/Himalayans. He has been on a topical and oral medications, steroids, as well as weekly doses of Advantage II and monthly doses of Revolution. He has also been put on a special diet of Royal Canin Multifunction Urinary + Hydrolyzed Protein (and no, combining a urinary formula food with a hydrolyzed protein food yourself is not the same). All of this is to say that we have decided to put out a plea for someone that has a heart for Henri, like we do, that is not afraid to care for him the way he needs to be cared for. We have disclosed his needs up front, and will only be able to adopt him to someone that understands this breed, this condition, and how important it is to keep him stress-free, groomed, on his meds when he needs them, on a specialized diet, and show him lots of love and affection. Hearing this big guy purr makes it all worth it. And we want it to last forever this time. If you are familiar with guys like Henri, please complete an application, but please note, that a vet reference will be done, not only to confirm that the current animals in your home are up to date on vaccines and altered, but to verify your experience with this particular breed. He is felv/fiv negative, up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped! The adoption fee is $100 and you can fill out an application at www.forrescue.net!
