Meet ERICA

Two-year-old Erica came to Home Fur Good from MCACC West, the animal shelter of Maricopa County. Erica is a 13-pound Welsh Terrier mix. She was taken to county as a stray. When you first arrive at county and head out to view the available animals, you initially walk by kennels with large glass windows. Volunteers and staff usually have these windows decorated because the animals inside have won their hearts. Erica was sharing one of these kennels with another doggie, a 19-pound Corgi mix that HFG also took in. Erica is friendly and she wants to crawl up close to receive some love. She does go a little stiff when you pick her up. Erica required minor bladder surgery and spent a couple of nights in foster care to heal. She may have been in discomfort for a while and anticipates that being picked up will be painful, but it will not take Erica long to become your new shadow. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information.
