Ruby Border Collie Mix League City, TX

Hi, I'm Ruby, a real gem of a dog. I was found as a stray looking for a forever home with a family to call my own. I'm at that age where I've outgrown the puppy stage but still young and need all the gentle training and socialization that puppies need to make them great dogs (house manners, leash, obedience). There are no children or cats at my foster's home so not sure how I would do with them, but I've not shown any aggression so I'm pretty sure with the right introduction I would be fine with cats and considerate children over the age of 8 years old (I get excited and jump on people so smaller children may get knocked down when all I want to do is play with them). I get along great with the dogs I live with - all 5 of them! I love playing tug and wrestling with the youngest dog but I also love snuggling with people too. I'm not crated but have been known to explore an open crate and do fine at adoption events, but prefer to be closer to my family and have free roam of the house. My foster says I'm extra-sweet, loving, well-behaved, non destructive (I'll need dog toys and bones to keep me occupied) young dog she's ever had and would love to keep me, but 5 dogs is her limit to what she can afford. I would love a moderately active family that will give me the playtime and walks I so enjoy . Are you that family that is looking for a smart, loving companion? Here I am!

Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home.

Adoption fee for this dog is $175.

Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule.
