NGPR dogs are in foster homes throughout the U.S., NOT Beacon, NY. View full listing, fee and online application at - www.nationalpyr.org/rescue-dogs (sorry, no phone submissions, but if you would like more information you can call 877-739-3582 or email us at renpyrgroup@yahoo.com).

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
NGPR does not adopt dogs to homes with children under 6 years old.
Previous dog experience is required, preferably large breed.

Female Great Pyrenees rarely cohabitate with other females successfully. Our goal is for each adoption to be a permanent placement, therefore homes that already have a female dog are not eligible to adopt a female Pyr.

Ollie is a young lad who came into rescue with a broken leg. He was out on his own and was lucky to have a family find him, contact the local shelter, who, not giving up hope contacted National Pyr Rescue for help. Ollie is listed as one of NGPR’s neediest cases due to the surgery needed on his leg. He is estimated to be under a year old and is one of the happiest dogs his foster mom has ever met! Even when he was injured he was always smiling. Ollie did not know what a leash was, but has quickly learned to walk nicely on it, is housebroken, crate trained and loves to ride in the car. Ollie enjoys baths, being groomed, and pretty much any attention he gets from his foster mom. He can entertain himself and is quite cute when he tosses his toys up into the air and catches them! He gets along great with his five foster fur brother and sisters, the cats, and ignores the other animals. Ollie has a solid white coat, soft as cotton, double dew claws, and currently weighs 53 lbs. What Ollie lacks in size he makes up for in personality! Ollie uses his big Pyr bark to let you know when he needs to go outside and when it is time to eat :) Ollie would love a home with a family to dote on him and continue to teach him to be a responsible doggie citizen!
