Meet Doris
Doris is a mild-mannered, sweet, one-year-old, 35 lb boxer/pointer/pitbull mix who is ready to be your new best friend! We don’t know much about her background, but after being in a shelter where she was scheduled to be euthanized, she is ready for someone to show her how sweet life as a dog really can be!
She is learning potty training, basic commands, leash training, manners such as not chewing on things, and crate training in her foster home. She is getting better and better every day! She stands by the door when she needs to go potty and she has become much more accustomed to being on a leash. Doris is adamantly opposed to being in her crate, so a yard would be ideal for when she is left alone, or she will need further training to help her get used to being crated.
Doris requires a home with at least one other dog in order for her to thrive. She does love people, but she gets her energy and playfulness from her doggie friends! She also gets quite stressed when left alone, but another dog would help her see that being alone isn’t so bad after all. Doris also loves kids and is incredibly gentle with them. She is great with cats as well!
Doris is the perfect balance between calmness and playful energy. She loves to snuggle up with her humans in bed at night or anytime they are on the couch, but she also wants to wrestle and play with you at times. She LOVES the dog park and will enjoy a good walk as she gets more used to a leash!
Doris is heartworm negative, spayed, and is up to date on medications and vaccinations.
