Never in the history of dogdom has there ever been a more adorable mother-son duo! Mommy Flirty and her baby boy, Lil' Flirt, are two peas in a pod and will bring rays of sunshine into your life every day. Flirty is a retired breeding dog after having litter after litter, even being just a petite 7 lbs. Her last litter only had one survivor, her precious Lil' Flirt. Due to her life thus far of being used for human greed, she is a bit shy, but her tail wags nonstop and she is learning that life after retirement is better than she could have imagined. She has discovered toys, fluffy beds, and how good it feels to be spoiled. She loves shoes and never chews them, but loves to hoard them and will be seen carrying shoes bigger than she is through the house until she has it safely placed in her bed. When Flirty arrived at Dolly's Legacy, she was extremely emaciated, missing patches of fur, and days later had an emergency hysterectomy to save her life. Had she not been rescued, we are certain she would have lost her life to a terrible uterine infection causing her temp to rise to 105 degrees. That sad life is now behind her and she is loving every moment of happily prancing with her baby. Her personality is blossoming, her hair is coming in beautifully, and her eyes sparkle.

Lil' Flirt has no fear and is ready to take on the world! His personality is one of a super hero who will go bounding & leaping into action. He loves toys of all kinds, but his very favorite is his Chewbacca. He will carry it from room to room, and falls asleep with it tucked away underneath him. Lil' Flirt will likely be a smaller Tzu like his mama, he's been with us 2 months and is still just a tiny 3 lbs (barely!). He loves to give tons of puppy kisses, so you will have to be ready to pucker up! Due to their tiny size, an adult-only home or one with older/teenage kids would be best. Small children are not recommended for handling them because they are so tiny. They have lived with several small dogs as well as cats and love them all. Both Flirty & Lil' Flirt are working hard on their house manners and do great if let outside on a regular basis for potty time. A fenced yard is preferred along with small breed/ShihTzu experience. Regular grooming is a must with this breed, every 6-8 weeks is recommended.

Flirty & Lil' Flirt are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Mommy never lets him out of her sight and worries when she isn't at his side. After all they have been through, we cannot bear to separate them, so please do not request us to. They need & love each other, and deserve to continue their journey together.

Flirty is a purebred ShihTzu who weighs 8 lbs and was born 8-19-11. Lil' Flirt is a purebred ShihTzu and was born 2-10-18. Flirty is spayed, Lil' Flirt will be neutered prior to adoption. Both are vaccinated (age appropriate), microchipped, dewormed, Flirty is heartworm negative (baby too young to test). Adoption fee is $750 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records.
