Meet CADET

My name is Cadet. I am having so much fun at my foster home. My sister Cadence and I are getting so much love and attention. My sister and I are best friends and we do everything together and there are other dogs here for me to play with, too. One is a boxer and one looks like us. I was a little unsure of them at first but I am warming up to them (I like to steal their toys when they aren't looking!). I love to play chase and wrestle with my sister in the backyard so a fenced in yard would be good for me. There is a cat here too but I'm not sure what I think about her so I just keep my distance. There are kids here too that like to play with me. One is 9 and I like to steal her stuffed animals and one is 16 and I think he is pretty cool. I still have some puppy in me so I'm still learning a few things. I go potty outside most of the time but I still have a few accidents. I’m learning! You will need to keep your shoes picked up because I love shoes. Just think, I will help you keep your house picked up as we learn together! After some hard play time, I love to cuddle on the couch or on the bed. I will check in on you to make sure you are ok and so you can reassure me that I am loved. Some loud and weird noises startle me and I may hide for a bit but I do come back out. I think I might like a quiet home, little kids who are active might be scary for me. I don't like my kennel but once my sister and I are tucked into bed we lay right down and go to sleep. We don't even cry or bark until morning when we need to go out to the bathroom. I very much want to stay with my sister, Cadet. We are two peas in a pod. We can't wait to meet you!

Cadet is a Manchester Terrier/Beagle mix who weighs 25 lbs and was born approximately 8-1-17. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm protection. Adoption fee is $400 for Cadence & Cadet as a bonded pair to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. For adoption guidelines and to submit an application, please go to this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will receive a reply from adoptions@dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org within a few days of application submission, please make sure to check your spam folder if you do not see a reply within a week. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. We are 100% volunteer staff. All communication is done via email AFTER your application has been submitted.
