Meet JEEPERS **Adoption Pending**

AGE: 8 - 10 years

DESCRIPTION: Scottish Fold - Buff

LOCATION: PETS Shelter (114 W Main Street) - Panora, IA

This spring we were contacted by someone familiar with a "backyard" breeder/hoarder of Scottish Fold kitties. (If you are not familiar with the breed, all Scottish Folds are born with straight, unfolded ears, and those with the Fold gene will begin to show the fold usually within about 21 days. The kittens that do not develop folded ears are known as Straights.) The poor kitties that did not have the folded ears were kept in horrid conditions when she was unable to sell them. The "breeder" was experiencing some health related issues and needed to find places for about 15 of the senior kitties she had left. We were able to take in 4 of them.

Jeepers was in relatively good health and pretty friendly from the get go. It his little paw. He has a beautiful buff colored tabby coat and a soft rounded face that makes him look like some sort of adorable stuff kitty. (Like many of the breeds with flatter faces, Jeepers may have some eye discharge that is easily taken care of by wiping with a warm damp cloth.) He can be a bit shy at first but it doesn't take him long to warm up to you, although, he will probably do best in a quieter home. He has come a long way from when he first came in and wanted to spend his time hiding. He now occupies one of the shelter's front windows and loves perching high in the kitty tree or watching the Main Street happenings from the bed attached to the window. And don't let his age hold you back, Jeepers can be as playful as a kitten but much less rambunctious!

Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.

We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire. Please fill out the questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at http://www.panora.org/PETS/index_files/adopt.htm and clicking on the Cat Adoption Questionnaire button at the top of the page or by clicking the "Adopt Me" button on this profile and asking for the questionnaire. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you with 24 hours. Thank you for your interest in this kitty. Please note: Upon approval of the adoption questionnaire, we may request a home visit prior to completing the adoption.

Panora P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
