Meet Chaka

I was always good to the people whom I thought were my family, but they neglected me in the backyard and then dumped me in the pound, even though they liked me for being good with kids and other dogs. I wasn't exactly brave before but when I came to the pound, I felt so scared and alone. I haven't quite gotten over that yet, so when you meet me for the first time, you might see me tremble. Maybe I'll even remind you a little of Nell, the young woman played by Jodie Foster who was raised in isolation. Just like Nell in the movie, I will come out of my shell if someone loves me and shows me that the world is not a scary place. When dogs like me once trust, we become very loyal and love you like you’ve never been loved. This is my promise to you. Will you promise me to be good to me?
