Meet Skipper (Ski)
Skipper (aka Ski or Skippy) was a stray who was rescued from Grand Prairie Animal Services.
•Neutered male, 22 lbs, 5-6 years old
•Crate/leash trained, respects barriers and baby gates, no marking, stays off furniture, rides well in car.
•Excellent housedog, quiet, shy and a little scared, loves to go outdoors, has not figured out how to work the dog door yet!
•Polite in public spaces (vet clinic, grooming shop, pet stores)
•Gets along well with other dogs, mostly ignores cats
•Heart-worm positive (rescue will provide medication and subsequent testing for slow kill treatment). Also has a collapsing trachea (a common defect in small breeds) - it is very manageable with occasional cough tabs and medication; we advise using a harness rather than a neck collar!
•Grooming – very thick, long hair, tends to mat easily. Very good for baths, brushing, grooming, clipping.
•Sweet and tentatively friendly little dog, seems to like people, but is a little unsure of himself. He definitely wants to be part of a family and fit it with other dogs in the pack!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The adoption donation is $300, and includes a general vet exam, neuter surgery, heartworm testing and/or treatment (as necessary), shots, microchip, and worming. Experienced dog ownership and credible vet references are required in order to adopt from HER.
