Hi, I'm Cayenne! I was afraid of humans before I came into care, and it took the Underdogs people almost a year to get me into care. When I finally joined the Underdogs family, I came with 9 stowaways in my belly. Now that all my pups have grown and found families of their own, and I've had the chance to adjust to my new life, I'm ready to find a family for myself!

I'm very sweet with the people I know, but cautious with new people. I am never mean, but will hide when new people come over until I get used to them. I tend to bond best with women but I do come around with men and kids, too, if they are gentle and patient with me. I love food, so that really helps in winning my heart, and I'm quite affectionate with the people I love! I get along great with other dogs, and will need at least one doggie friend in my new home who can model confidence and lead by example. My current foster home has an outgoing dog who has helped me be more comfortable trying new things and meeting new people!

I have been around cats a bit and did fine, but since my exposure was limited I should probably meet any kitties that I'd be expected to live with in my new home. I am housebroken, kennel trained, and walk very nicely on the leash, although I do get a bit nervous on walks and tend to whine while I'm walking. I already know a handful of commands and am working on more - I can't wait to show you what I know!
