Meet Sadie
Little Miss Sadie was turned into a municipal shelter when her elderly owner was no longer able to take care of herself, or her beloved pet. This little girl has spent her entire life as a devoted companion. And now she finds herself homeless. Sadie is looking for a quiet retirement home, a soft bed and a warm environment to spend her Golden Years. She's sixteen years old and just wants a quiet life, a lazy life, preferably with a woman.
The shelter had her for several weeks, and honestly didn't know what to do with her. Who would want an old dog like that? Thankfully, one of our wonderful volunteers spotted her and we were able to pull her from her life on a cold cement floor and bring her into foster care (heated tile floors, soft bed, good quality food). She is surprisingly active for her age; she does show signs of arthritis in her back hips. She probably wouldn't do well in a home with lots of stairs.
We know there is the right home out there for Sadie, who will treasure her final years, and when she's ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge, will be right there with her.
