Meet Hootie

HOOTIE is a drop-dead gorgeous young Himalayan neutered male. He is a flame-point, thus is cream-colored with an orange mouth, ear tips, and tail tip, and he has the typical melt-your-heart-away round blue eyes. Hootie is about 1.5 yrs young and was surrendered when his family got overwhelmed with several cats, several dogs, and several young kids. He has seen a vet, is up-to-date on shots, and is FIV/FeLeuk tested negative. He is an amazingly affectionate boy, most curious about anything, still quite kittenish in behavior and exploring spirit. Currently, he is learning to not play too rough as to not hurt others, and he is a quick study. He gets easily bored, loves company and very gentle petting. I expect that, once he discovers a warm lap or a soft feather pillow, he'll be in it with gusto, and he will make window-watching his second favorite activity. -- Please note that Himalayan and Persian cats are as pretty as they are labor-intensive. These cats require daily grooming, including combing of the entire body and gentle wiping of the eyes. Many of these cats were discarded by previous owners due to the amount of care they need... so please, please consider carefully whether you will make this daily routine part of your life for the rest of this cat's life... or whether a domestic shorthair or mediumhair kitty might be a better match for you and your family. Persians and Himalayans are a great companion for those who love to touch and pet and scratch ears and manually share affection... but not for people easily distracted when the newness of the pet wears off. -- If you are serious about wanting to adopt this sweet beauty queen, please go to www.va-persianrescue.org, where you can find an application, a description of the adoption process, and a copy of the adoption contract to be signed later. Send us your completed application so that we can approve you for adoption! -- Please bear in mind that this rescue works with volunteers exclusively, the kitties are fostered in private homes, and most of our foster parents have full time jobs and family to master. Do assume that we want to work with you but don't lose patience when we don't respond and move forward as quickly as you wish. We do the best we can! :-)
