Nona Persian Lansdowne, VA

NONA is a female/spayed doll-faced Persian beauty with a fluffy, full blue-cream coat (think: "dilute torti") and big, round eyes. She came to us when a breeder got overwhelmed. Initially, she was a skinny, frightened mess, who has now become a sweet beauty queen. These days, Nona is calm and curious like the best of the Persian breed. Upon coming to our rescue, this cat had to get shaved due to severe matting. We had the kitty vetted (distemper vaccines, rabies vaccine, exam, spayed/neutered, and given an ID microchip to assist in finding home should this kitty ever accidentally get out the house. Also, Nona was tested for feline aids and feline leukemia: an initial test showed a "slight positive" for leukemia antibodies, but a full-fleshed set of lab tests that is trustworthy declared her healthy...hurray! Nona is seeking a quiet home without dogs and without kids under school age, as loud noises and sudden moves startle her. -- Please note that Himalayan and Persian cats are as pretty as they are labor-intensive. These cats require daily grooming, including combing of the entire body and gentle wiping of the eyes. Many of these cats were discarded by previous owners due to the amount of care they need... so please, please consider carefully whether you will make this daily routine part of your life for the rest of this cat's life... or whether a domestic shorthair or mediumhair kitty might be a better match for you and your family.
