PLEASE READ HER STORY:
Frankie is a pretty little 3 year old boxer/bully mix. She weighs 48lbs and she is a tripod. You may want to classify her as special needs but she is anything but. She is energetic and full of fun for life.

Frankie had a rough start in life; she was brought in to an animal hospital with a broken leg when she was just 6 months old. Her owners claimed they ran her over. When told of the expense to reset the leg, the owner said they left their wallet in the car and left Frankie on the table. They never returned for her. After several days of no one coming back to claim her, this little girl was destined for euthanasia. Then her current mom fell in love with her and adopted her. Because the leg had begun to fuse the leg could not be repaired and had to be amputated.

Dispite all the odds, Frankie has grown into a strong beautiful dog. Nothing holds her back. Living life with 3 legs is nothing strange to her. She is happy, playful and ready to go for a walk as soon as she gets that invitation. She is beyond loved and a spoiled member of a family with 2 young children and a k-9 brother. Unfortunately, Frankie’s mom was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing very intense and painful treatments. She isn’t able to give Frankie to get the attention she needs and deserves. Her mom knows she needs a family that will love her as much as her current one does but it needs to be a family who is active and takes Frankie for walks, hikes, and plays with her. Frankie is still a puppy at heart and loves all the activity and fun.

This has not been an easy decision for Frankie’s mom but she knows it’s best for Frankie.

Frankie’s mom says:
“Frankie loves to run. She’s very high energy. She gets along with children and dogs. She is an alpha so it takes a few minutes but she comes around. She does get very nervous with men at first but if you go slow and show her you aren’t a threat she’ll be in your lap licking your face. She does not get along with cats and she is a professional at taking food off the counter. She is all about toys and cuddling at night. She is very stubborn so be prepared for the cold shoulder when she’s mad at you. She is house trained but hates being in a crate. She does pull on the leash but some of that has to do with the 3 legs. Good luck if you see a squirrel or a rabbit, grip the leash for dear life. She really is a fantastic dog and would make a heck of an addition to the right family.”

Frankie will be adopted to an inside family only. Fence required. Home owners only. No renters please. References, vet check and home visit are required. As a companion to another dog Frankie will be adopted to a male only. Frankie’s adoption donation of $200 will be used to help abused and abandoned dogs.
