Meet Peekers
Sponsor the Sock Monger!
Peekers was a rescue from an abusive situation. She was beaten by a child in her first home. She lost her eye, had her upper and lower jaw busted, and we originally thought she was deaf in one ear, but that wasn't the case. Her teeth grew in all sorts of crooked due to the breakages and we thought that we would have to have them removed, but the vet told us that they grew in around each other and even though they were all out of order, she manages to eat just fine and it's not interfering with her eating at present. We just have to keep a close eye on this to make sure that her teeth do not start going into her gums.
Her eating is a little slower than most other kitties, but she isn't hurting for any weight, that's for sure!
Peekers is about 8 years old and a real character. She loves to play with lots of things. We call her the "alligator wrestler" because she gets into the socks and flips them up in the air and rolls around with them. Of course there are a lot of mis-matched socks around here now. She loves those stuffed snakes to romp and roll with too.
Even after all the trauma she has been through, she remains a sweet, gentle kitty and loves to take a snooze on a lap or chest.
Peekers is a special needs kitty as she is a diabetic and needs insulin twice a day.
