Meet Wrangler

Wrangler is a great example of why people love the Blue Heeler..with perhaps just a bit of Corgi in there for good measure. He's a gorgeous white-coated guy with beautiful black and gold markings. Wrangler's dark eyes show his super-intelligence and are filled with wisdom beyond his young age.

At 9 - 12 months old (such a great age..young enough to have many, many active, healthy years ahead and old enough to be beyond babyish or destructive behavior) and 24 lbs, Wrangler is an extremely loyal and loving guy who bonds hard and respects those that are kind and loving..and establish themselves as his leaders.

Wrangler had a tough start in life and ended up homeless in New Mexico. This stunning dog appears to be the victim of irresponsible breeding to attain beauty and a very desirable size..and therefore able to command high prices. As a result of this heartless breeding, Wrangler was born deaf. He was gorgeous, super-smart..yet wouldn't bring a good price. Therefore he had to go and was abandoned on the streets.

Wrangler had a spirit about him that caught the attention of a compassionate New Mexico rescuer. She saved him from the busy streets and fell in love with his sweetness and positive nature. She knew that he would be a natural companion for an active Coloradoan. They were more sophisticated about the special and intuitive nature of a non-hearing dog. There were classes available to learn the hand signals that train these super-smart dogs. Following this training, these dogs often participate in agility or flyball classes...so much fun for both the dog and his person.

Wrangler will be overjoyed to hike the mountains or take an early morning run with his person. At days end, once his needs for exercise, fun and mental stimulation are satisfied, Wrangler can happily cuddle up next to his person for a night of cuddling and belly rubs.

Farfel's Rescue feels that Wrangler would be a wonderful best friend for retirees. He would thrive on the time spent...quickly becoming a loyal best friend and a very important member of the family. He would also enjoy a younger family with dog-loving kids. They could learn so much through participation in classes to learn hand signals to train Wrangler to be a full-time, well-trained best friend.

We feel that Wrangler will be at his best as an only dog. He can get frustrated with other male canines but seems to enjoy the company of females. As a single dog, Wrangler will blossom with the attention and love that he will receive for the first time.

Wrangler can be relied on to share nothing but love and his best behavior with his humans. He is a wonderful and exceptionally devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to share time, play and learning new skills with a very kind and committed family. There's no question that a long workday for his family won't work for Wrangler. He thrives on family-time and being at home while his people work full-time isn't in the best interest of this devoted companion.

Wrangler will be so happy with a family that includes him in dog-friendly adventures...camping and backpacking trips are so much fun or just a walk or run around the neighborhood socializing would be awesome.

Wrangler will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 3/31/18. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
