Meet Layla & Olivia

We would really love to get these girls, together or separately, into a home where they will be treated as family members. From their current owner who is surrendering them:
Layla is 6 years old and has lived in our backyard her entire life. Her mother was a Weimaraner and her father was a chocolate lab. She is very friendly and calm, and we have never had any issues with her biting people. She does great around kids as well as other dogs. We have never had her around cats or other animals, so I cannot comment on how she would be. She has been spayed. She has never been an inside dog, but we do bring our dogs inside on cold nights, and have never had problems with them messing in the house or destroying anything. I would say that she is house trained so long as she gets the appropriate opportunities to go outside and potty when she would need to. She does love to explore, and would frequently jump our fence until we got in electrified underground fence. Once we installed the fence with the collars we have never had any problems with her leaving our yard.

Olivia is 2 years old and is Layla's daughter. Her father was a pure blooded lab, so Olivia is 1/4 Weimaraner. She has the same temperament as her mother, but is a little more shy around strangers or other animals. She doesn't like to leave her mom's side, and because of this we don't always keep the collar on her in the backyard because she won't leave the yard if Layla doesn't leave the yard. She is very friendly and doesn't realize how big she is, and as such will quickly want to sit on someone's lap, or play with little children that may not be large enough to handle her. She is frequently around small dogs and loves to play with them, but has never been around many large dogs other than her mother, and has never been around any cats. Just like her mother, we never have problems with her messing in the house or tearing anything up when we leave them in overnight. She has also been spayed. She has a little bit of a limp. We never noticed it until one day after she and her mother decided to run off for several hours. This was what prompted us to install the electrified fence. We don't know if she fell and got hurt, if she was hit by a car, or if she possibly already had hip dysplasia and it just got exacerbated that day so that we could finally notice it. We generally give her glucosamine chondroitin pills and the limp will disappear sometimes. It comes and goes, but is never severe. She has no trouble walking running or jumping, but if you watch you can see a little hitch in her step.
