Meet Stella-17
Stella & Cooper were dumped at a shelter by a heartless owner who had no use for them: two old friends who had no doubt been loyal companions for 12+ years. The ultimate betrayal. We couldn't sit by and watch them grow old in a shelter, so we pulled them to safety and have made them the promise to find them a home where they can spend the rest of their golden years surrounded by all the love they have earned.
Stella - a.k.a. Stella Bella is an approx. 12-year-old Shih Tzu mix. Stella is a spitfire! She loves to eat (imagine that), play with toys, follow her human and lay on her favorite trunk, yes, she has a favorite trunk she jumps on and sleeps. Stella isn't a big cuddle bug, but does LOVE her belly being rub, and will immediately flip over for you, or let you lift her up to accommodate her. Other than sleeping at night, Stella doesn’t rest in one place for long, it’s like she can’t get comfortable, I know she’s not in pain, but don’t be alarmed if she lies down, gets up, lies down, and so on. It’s just her thing. Not sure of history, but it's possible some abuse was done to her - when she has had an accident in the house she will cower down, and flip on back. Stella has a few minor issues, but who wouldn't at her age. She does have a skin allergy we are taking care of, so she itches, and has a few scabs. Stella’s biggest issue is incontinence - she does wear a diaper most of the time. When Foster Mom is home and can watch and tell when she needs to go out, she lets her go without the diaper. Stella is good about going to the door to let Foster Mom know. When startled from sleep or a certain part of her body is touched, she will yelp, and nip. She sleeps with cooper, and protects him at best, but also nudges him out of the way to get water, and bumps him off their favorite pillow they share at times. She gets along with other dogs, but don't know about other pets. She’s such a sweetheart, and will make an excellent friend.
Stella is about 12-13 years old, she weighs about 10 pounds and she's a very healthy girl. We will only adopt her with her life-partner, Cooper.
