Don't let her grandmotherly name fool you - Moma is a whole lot of lovely young dog in a tiny little package! Found alone on the mean streets of Scarborough, most likely dumped and abandoned by a previous owner, Moma’s looking for a second chance to be the incredible dog that she's destined to be!

Moma is a tremendous terrier with a Master's degree in cuddling and kissing you. She loves being picked up, held, cuddled, and wiggling under the covers with you at bed time. She attached incredibly fast to her people, and wags her little tail like crazy when you come home, sometimes even giving a little howl that translates to "OMG YOU'RE HOME I LOVE YOU I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SO AMAZING!"

However, Moma’s adoring ways mean that she needs to go to a home that can resist her affections at times, and provide her with the structure and boundaries that she needs to feel safe again. Moma can be reactive around strangers both on and off leash, and if her fear signals are not recognized, she may have the opportunity to snap at someone who is petting her without noticing how she's feeling. Moma does well with submissive dogs, but is reactive to dogs who don't immediately show submissive body language around her.

On leash, Moma is a perfect (and fast!) walker, although she has some leash reactivity that will need to be worked on. She is a ball of energy, and is currently getting 2-3 hours of walks each day, with additional time spent playing indoors. Her new home should have the time and energy to keep up with Moma physically, and stimulate her mind with games and training, too. Moma would love to be able to jog with you, or run alongside your bicycle! She is not a lazy Netflix and chill kind of dog. Moma would rather be your loyal workout buddy for life.

In her foster home, Moma lives with 3 cats, but she does show prey drive around them, so it is recommended that she goes to a cat-free home, and only have a doggie sibling who is very submissive. She hasn't been kid-tested, although her tendency to react to strangers means that she would do best with no kids, or respectful kids over 12.

Moma is fully house trained and crate trained, and only barks to let you know someone is at the door (or with joy when you come home).
