REX Rhodesian Ridgeback & Shepherd Mix Lincoln, NE

If Rex were in high school, we imagine he would be the captain of the football team and homecoming king. I mean, look at those good looks! He is tall, dark, handsome, and has a strong athletic build. He is lean and fast and will play ball until your arm gets so tired you can’t possibly throw anymore (watch him play here https://youtu.be/4SzwYk99dzo). Rex is also very confident and likes to be the leader of the pack. Because of this, he needs a home without other dogs or children. When it comes to cats, he has no problem. They’re like the star quarterback and drum major of the marching band—they just ignore each other. Like the popular kid in school, Rex also loves to cruise around in the car and go on adventures. He is typically very mellow and loves to take long naps in the sun or on the couch with you. Rex gets straight A’s in knowing “sit”, taking treats gently, being kennel trained, and being housetrained. He’ll even paw at the door when he needs to go outside! Rex gets a B- on walking on a leash so he needs a fenced-in yard so he can have lots of room to safely romp and play. Rex is a fantastic dog and he can’t wait to find his perfect family!He currently lives with a cat and has no problem; they are like two ships passing. Neither cares about the other. He has a dominant personality when it comes to other dogs and would do best as reigning king of his castle. Children are overwhelming for him and he does not like to be hugged or tugged at; we are seeking an adult-only home for our Rex.

Rex is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Shepherd mix (we do our best to determine breeds based on size/appearance), weighs 70 lbs and is 2 yrs old. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. Adoption fee is $175 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Since all of our pets are in foster homes and not a facility, we hold adoption appointments once a week on either a Saturday or Sunday, during scheduled time period. We need ALL family members or those living within your home, to be present for an appointment. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference and home ownership, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records.
