Meet Cheers
Meet Cheers! Cheers had a litter of puppies in December - her last, because she is now spayed. She appears to be a Black & Tan Coonhound – possibly pure bred. We do not know, but if she is mixed with another breed we wouldn't be able to guess what it could be. Our vet estimated her to be about 4 years old and she weighed 53 lbs when she was spayed in early March.
Cheers is a beautiful girl with a sweet nature. She loves people a lot. She gets along pretty well with the dogs in her foster home, and has just now begun to play a bit -- maybe for the first time in her life. She will howl if she feels alone and abandoned, so she would prefer a home where she is not left alone for long stretches of time. She has been left alone with other dogs in her foster home for several hours at a time and it has not been a problem for her. We do not know her history, but we do know that she will be very loyal and loving to the person who chooses to give her a home. She loves nothing more than to stick close by you and give you those lovey puppy eyes. She will be a lap dog if you let her.
Cheers had a failed adoption because one of their cats was afraid of her -- but she is not mean to cats at all. She just wanted to play. Their other cat liked her.
Cheers needs a fenced yard or she will be off following that hound nose the first chance she gets.
