Meet Romeo

Handsome Romeo awaits his one true family! This charming boy is a Lab mix youngster arrived back at the Humane Society in June, 2018. His previous adopter just doesn't have the time with a change of schedule to devote to an active puppy. And Romeo has A LOT of energy! He would really benefit from a family who will give him positive training and have fun activities for him to do. He is ball and toy driven so should learn quickly. He weighs close to 50 pounds at 6 months old so will be pretty large when he finishes growing. Romeo is definitely fluffy! He had a trim before coming to the Humane Society so we're not sure how long his hair is exactly. He currently has a small mass near his left temple area but it's not a health issue and is getting smaller every day.
Romeo is up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormer, heart worm, flea and tick prevention, micro-chipped and neutered.
If you are ready for the work, time, patience and expense to devote to an active young dog, we welcome your adoption application. The adoption donation is $175. The adoption donation also includes a discount for S.T.A.R. Puppy Kindergarten or Canine Good Citizen Class.

Dog Adoption Guidelines:

You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. You can find the application at www.ForThePets.org/adoption.htm or email humanesociety@murray-ky.net for an application.

It is not a first come process; we try to match the dog with the family for a FOREVER home. We process all applications at once and take the dog off the site, place on adoption pending status until a decision is made. If a suitable home match is not found, the dog returns to active status.

The dog adoption process can take up to two weeks; we are a small group of volunteers who mostly have full time jobs.

All of our dogs are indoor dogs with outdoor privileges, unless otherwise specified.

We do not fly or ship our dogs due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the dog back in the cabin (size restrictions) with you, that would be considered.

If you apply to adopt a dog and are chosen, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the dog and fill out the paperwork in person.

We do adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport.

We can't provide individual meet and greet sessions for each applicant. If chosen to adopt, you will have plenty of time for your family and pets to visit with the potential new family member before signing any paperwork and will not be committed to adopt if you choose not to at that time.
