Peto Labrador Retriever & Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix Nashville, TN

Peto is a very active dog as he loves to be outdoors, chasing squirrels or being a part of neighborhood activity. At the same time, he is extremely partial to his crate (loves being in it) or on a dog bed hanging out with us throughout the house. When we leave, we do crate him- but we would have no concerns if he was not crated as he has never destroyed or torn up any items in the home.

Inside the home he leaves the barking to the other dogs should someone come to the door. He has always been very friendly and inviting to guests no matter their age. We brought him home when he was maybe 2 months old and he has been raised with a baby, young pups, dogs of various sizes and activities, cats and kittens. Some of his favorite pastimes include laying down (in that dead dog weight) because he has decided he wants to stay in the room instead. Or maybe placing his head into your lap while you are sitting at a table.

Peto is very partial to food. He does not enjoy eating around other animals eating, so we feed him separately. Peto is a very sensitive dog. When our neighbor's dog passed, he spent 2 weeks laying at the fence with his nose to the ground and would not eat.

He does well being inside or out. In the good weather he appreciates the yard. While he is not a fan of being in the cold or rain, he will exit to use the bathroom as needed and is happy to return when done. He is able to stay in his crate for long stints if needed without accidents.

Peto is being rehomed because as he's gotten older he seems to prefer to be the only pet in the house. He is still playful but is a bit more onguard around the other animals when he has to be with them constantly.

He is approx 5 years young and weighs around 50 lbs. Vetting is 100% up to date and application, home visit and nominal rehoming fee will be required.
