Meet Rosie-ADOPTION PENDING

Whenever a sweet and engaging Schnauzer or Poodle (Schnoodle) mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that dogs of this breed mix are loving, super-smart and make great family companions. They fit so well into a household and often make great companions for all age groups.

Sometimes rescue dogs are initially a bit shy....but put them into a home with a loving family that provides frequent socialization, nurturing, love and belly rubs.. and they will shine. Rosie is one of these pups...she's a blank slate that's just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and the greatest lap/couch dog ever.

Rosie's path has been very challenging. She was found in a hoarding situation with 40 other dogs (sometimes being a very desirable breed leads to this hoarding for opportunistic breeding purposes). All were living in a mud pit without appropriate food, water or shelter. The dogs were saved and Rosie was adopted out to a single dad that she bonded with and loved. Sadly, the unhappy ending is that Rosie's dad passed away very suddenly with no known relatives, Rosie was transferred by animal control to a high-kill shelter that very quickly runs out of space. Rosie's sweet spirit is meant to be...she was rescued yet again by her original foster who was so thrilled to be reunited with her beloved girl. Farfel's Rescue was contacted with the bittersweet story of Rosie and we immediately invited her to join our rescue.

Rosie is such a great age and size... at just about 2.5 years old (such a great age - young enough to be open to new and wonderful possibilities in her life yet old enough to have left her babyish behavior behind) and weighs 20 lbs...perfect size to accompany her family on Colorado trails and just about anywhere a sweet dog is welcome.

Rosie is lucky enough to have inherited the superior intelligence of the Poodle along with the curiosity of the fun-loving Schnauzer. She is so excited and attentive when her people teach her the wonders of her world. If Rosie attends positive reinforcement group training classes and given tons of love, socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be a wonderful companion. Rosie has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a desire to please.

We'd like to place Rosie in a home with either active retirees or a younger family who loves spending lots of time with a fuzzy and devoted family member. Rosie would also enjoy the company of a fun and respectful canine...she would love the playtime and companionship. Rosie will shine for a family who is motivated to take her to group obedience classes to bring out all the wonderful qualities and loyalty that live inside of this beautiful Schnauzer mix.

Rosie will love the trails and paths of Colorado (she's the perfect size to enjoy long walks through the mountains). Window-shopping would also be great to fine-tune her urban skills and provide the socialization that is so important in the development of a dog's abilities. With feelings of security within the family, Rosie will learn the skills of being alone and knowing her family will always return.

Rosie has the potential for a gorgeous, non-shedding silver coat. As is evident in this photo (sorry that it's blurry..we'll update with a new picture as soon as we receive it), Rosie's coat has been sadly ignored. She will require a commitment to TLC.. periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her hair healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free.

Rosie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/16/18 . Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Rosie, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
