Meet Rose

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" We think William Shakespeare may have had our Rose in mind when he wrote this. Rose has had a tough beginning, but nothing can tarnish our Rose.

This sweet girl was found running loose with another dog, both of them scared and extremely malnourished. Some kind people stepped in to help; Rose came to STAF, and her friend found a loving home.

Rose is very gentle and quiet. Her magnificent eyes let you know that she loves someone to sit with her and stroke her face. Although we believe that Rose will become more active in her home, we do think she is a great fit for those not looking to have their dog join them in a marathon, rock climb or even a 10 mile hike. Rose does like to take walks but she much prefers her human and low key canine interactions.

After what has undoubtedly been a rough life, we are overjoyed that Rose is now getting used to love and gentleness. We don't think she has seen much of either so far, but we are working hard to fix that!

Rose is about 4 years old and weighs 34 pounds, but needs to gain more weight. We think she may be part springer spaniel mixed with beagle. Our volunteers will continue to shower this precious girl with love and care, until she's ready for her forever home.

Rose needs: A calmer, quieter home
Rose would love: Positive based training for confidence building
Rose’s estimated birth date is January 2104
Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
