RIKKI Alaskan Malamute Boise, ID

Hey there all you Malamute lovers! My name is Rikki. I am a Utah native but would love to be your travel partner and see what’s out there. I’m only about two years old but have had my share of trouble in those years. They say I have something called resource guarding, whatever that is. I just believe what’s mine is mine and I shouldn’t have to share. I get into trouble if I try to protect my things but Moonsong is working with me on that with a great group of trainers. The trainers have even offered 3 free sessions with them for the lucky person who adopts me! They must think I am worth it.

I have some basic commands down pretty well. I can sit, down, heel (sort of), crate and working on stay. I do like playing with other dogs and could probably get along with the right dog who would respect my space and things. I love going for walks and checking out all the P-mail. I also started running next to a bicycle which I find to be great fun. I am all about fun and attention. I am spayed and current on all my shots and vetting. I am in great shape and have lots of energy!  My one wish is to find my fur-ever home and live out my life with a loving family. Could you be the one to give me a comfy place to lay my head and the love and respect that a Mal of my stature deserves?

Moonsong feels because of Rikki’s resource guarding that she needs a home with experienced Northern Breed adopters, a home without other pets or just one other large mellow male. A home without children and experience in positive reinforcement, force free training would be ideal. Rikki is a young, energetic Mal with a lot of potential for the right home.
