Meet Portia, a Golden Retriever mix born 10/18/17. Our sweet little Portia was born with one of her legs only partially formed but that doesn't stop her from being a happy, bouncy, puppy! She has already learned her name and comes when called. She loves to play outside and needs to have a fenced in yard to romp in when it's sunny. She climbs over rocks, attempts to chase her foster brothers, pounces on leaves, and has learned to climb up the porch stairs. Inside Portia thinks everything is a toy and loves to play, play, play. Rope and balls are amongst her favorite, but anything she can chew on will do. Currently her foster Mom is working on house training and Portia has started signaling to go out. Needless to say. her foster Mom is super proud of her! Portia, her siblings, and her Mom came to the rescue from an overcrowded local shelter, and where able to be raised in her foster's home. And while everyone has found their forever home, it is now Portia's turn. She just needs that special someone who has the time, love, and understanding to take care of the sweetest, happiest, and most special puppy. Portia would be best suited in a home with a structural fenced in yard and not an apartment. As a young puppy she will need a family that is home more often than not to give her all the attention she deserves.
