Ella Newfoundland Dog Mix Stanstead, QC

Ella, is a great dog who needs an experienced adopter. A four year old Newfoundland mix, Ella spent the first years of her life living outdoors. Despite not having the human companionship dogs so desire, her spirit and love for people remain intact. Ella loves her walks and she loves to romp around and play in the snow.

Engaged and affectionate, Ella tends to lean in against you when being pet or brushed; Ella is quiet and well behaved in the home. She will sit for a treat which she takes gently from your hand.

Ella is, however, strong willed and her adopter must provide structure and leadership. She can be possessive of her toys and her spot on the couch. She is currently with our trainer who is working with her on this and Ella is responding well to training.

Ella enjoys the company of other dogs and plays nicely. Unfortunately Ella cannot live with cats and has a strong prey drive so she cannot run free unless in a securely fenced area. She walks well on the leash and although she definitely takes notice of squirrels, she is responsive and can be redirected.
A fenced in yard is a bonus but her exercise needs can be met with nice long walks.
