Meet Mr. Waldo Copper Bear...this distinguished gentleman is a 5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog who is looking for a new family to love him always and forever. Waldo was surrendered to a humane society due to his owners moving and him not being able to go with them. He wasn't doing great in a shelter environment so he came to us and he is loving his foster home! He is good with dogs and lived with 2 other Berners previously. He is also good with kids and loved to roll around on the floor and play with a 10 yr old and he was very gentle with a the younger children in the home. He was left outside a lot, except for during the winter so he has been having a crash course on full time living but he's catching on quick and enjoying all the perks! He has no favorite toys but likes to play with whatever tickles his fancy at the time. Waldo knows how to sit, stay and get in the back (of the car). While we were told that Waldo was leery of strangers, particularly men,he has been quite good with all he has met so far while in rescue. He does have some special needs and will need a special diet due to Kidney disease. He also has some weakness in his back end and is currently on Gabapentin to keep him comfortable.
